Alameda County Superior Court Case No. 24-CV-069373

A resolution has been reached in a civil action filed by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office against a private towing company (Private Property Impound, Inc., also known as “PPI”) alleging that PPI unlawfully towed vehicles from private properties in Alameda County between January 1, 2017 and July 23, 2019. You are receiving this notice because records obtained by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office indicate your car may have been towed by PPI between January 1, 2017 and July 23, 2019.

If your car was towed by PPI during this time period, you may (or may not) be entitled to a restitution payment. To see if you qualify for a restitution payment, you must complete the online Claim Form using your Claim ID and PIN code, or you may mail the Claim Form postmarked no later than June 28, 2025 to the following address:

If you qualify for a restitution payment, you may receive a base payment of up to (1) the amount paid to recover your vehicle, or (2) if your vehicle was illegally towed but you did not recover it, $1,000. You may also be entitled to interest. Depending on the total amount of valid claims received from all victims, you may receive only a partial restitution payment.
